Schott Zwiesel Chosen as Official Stemware for October 2004 World Sommeliers Competition
In October of 2004 Schott Zwiesel was chosen to be the official stemware used exclusively for the World Sommeliers competition. The competition was held in Athens Greece and attended by the top sommeliers and wine experts from countries all over the globe. This is the premier event for choosing the best sommeliers from around the world. Schott Zwiesel played a major role in the event and Forte and Diva patterns were used exclusively during the event and competition.
Why was Schott Zwiesel Diva and Forte patterns chosen? The weight, balance, clarity and thin rim of a glass are most important during a tasting and it also enhances the enjoyment for the individual connoisseur or for the casual enjoyment of a glass of wine. The proper ounce capacity, diameter of the bowl and height and thickness of the stem is the next set of important features a fine stemware needs to have to be considered for a competition like this. Schott Zwiesel Crystal Glassware exceeds all of the quality requirements for a professional stemware line and it is “tritan crystal” and will withstand the use a banquet of this size can deliver during setup, handling, and washing afterwards.
